Hi again. I've almost come to the end of this particular project (thanks largely to Dick, Simon, Karl , Franz, Chris, Johan) sorry if I missed anyone. I've got my report opening fine (saved as a PDF file) in a web browser (Chrome firstly, then IE, Edge, FireFox etc) and even a few PDF readers BUT. Here's where the problem begins. Adobe Reader won't open it at all, Corel PDF will open it ONCE, but then I have to close the app to reopen it etc
Using ReportPro 2.17j VO 2.8SP4b
Any ideas at all please? Having said this problem is not of MY making, I'll just sit here and wait to be proved wrong...

Jeff,
You are doing it again: you are reporting a problem but you don't include the essential information. If your PDF can't be opened buy some programs, then why don't you include an example PDF that demonstrates the problem ?

Robert, it's a pdf created by ReportPro. It doesn't open in Adobe at all even without my program. What exactly would you have me post?

What's so hard about "an example pdf"?

Jeff,
There was a problem in the RP PDF driver. The length of a compressed section in the PDF was wrong.
This has been fixed in the mean time.
I could open the PDF with Acrobat Reader DC.
Btw: you may want to consider NOT to embed fonts such as Arial.
TO do that add a section to your RPWIN.INI like this:
[PDFDoNotEmbed]
Arial=
Arial Bold=
Arial Bold Italic=
Arial Italic=
Times New Roman=
Times New Roman Bold=
Times New Roman Bold Italic=
Times New Roman Italic=
Courier New=
Courier New Bold=
Courier New Bold Italic=
Courier New Italic=
WingDings=

Ok. Thanks Robert. As you say the problem was fixed. How do I get the "fixed" version please? I didn't deliberately embed the fonts, but I guess I didn't tell not to either. However, in this case, being an invoice, wed like to keep it uniform, so I guess embedding is the only way is it not? If you have a suggestion, ill be very happy to listen.

Jeff,
the fast fix for the compression fault is, either in designer when choosing "Export" clicking the "Advanced" tab - here you may remove the tick "compress pdf contents". I remembered an hour ago that i had the same problem a year or so ago . Or, have a look into the ini file to set/unset any defaults.
As for a fix, the roadmap says, this will come after the CDX is completed...

Jeff,
This is fixed in the reportpro version 2.30 that is available from this website, when you show us 'proof of purchase' for ReportPro.
