XSharp Forum rules

The XSharp forums are intended for peer-to-peer support between XSharp users and the XSharp staff.
We kindly ask that you adhere to the following rules when posting to our forum:

Notice: Administrators/Moderators reserve the right to edit or remove any content at any time if it is deemed inappropriate.

I. General Forum Rules:

Do not:

  • Flame or insult other members.
  • Bypass the swear filter or other content filters.
  • Abuse or encourage abuse of the Reputation, Post Reporting, or Private Messaging Systems.
  • Post personally identifiable information (i.e. name, address, email, phone number, etc.).
  • Bump threads.
  • Derail a thread's topic.
  • Post links to phishing sites.
  • Post spam or repost content that has been closed, modified or deleted.
  • Repeatedly post in the incorrect forum.
  • Argue with a moderator openly. If necessary, contact the moderator via private message.
  • Share your account. Forum accounts are intended for the use by one individual.
  • Create alternate, backup, or multiple accounts.
  • Publicly post or otherwise share private messages without the sender's express permission. Private messages are intended to be just that - private.

II. The following topics are strictly off limits, including in external links:

  • Pornography, explicit content, or anything inappropriate for a work environment.
  • Piracy, warez, or leaked content.
  • *Any* discussion of piracy will result in a permanent ban from the forums.
  • Threats of violence or harassment, even as a joke.
  • Posting copyrighted material, such as magazine scans.
  • Soliciting, begging, auctioning, selling, advertising, or referrals.
  • Racism or discrimination.
  • Drugs or alcohol.
  • Threads on religion, politics, or other topics prone to causing heated arguments.

III. No Backseat Moderating:

  • Let the forum moderators do the moderating. Backseat moderating refers to non-moderators attempting to police the forum. If you see someone breaking the rules, use the "Report this post to a moderator" link or simply ignore the post(s).. The most common backseat reply is the "+1 in before lock" phrase. Backseat moderating is unnecessary and unhelpful.

IV. Report Post to the Moderators:

  • Should you observe a fellow forum member violating these rules, please report the post by clicking the "Report Post" button located to the left of every post, or feel free to contact any of the forum staff directly.

V. Lifetime Achievement Award:

  • Users who repeatedly break the rules will be permanently removed from the forums.
