Here are the top three of the most popular passwords of my fellow countrymen:

https://hpi.de/pressemitteilungen/2018/ ... erter.html

1. 123456
2. 12345
3. 123456789

For comparison, the 2017 hit parade:

1. 123456
2. 123456789
3. 1234

I´m pretty sure, in other countries the results are more or less the same. :-)

What happened to "password" ?
That is my personal favorite (and no, that is not my password for the X# website ;))

I heard at a training session that apparently "spammer" is one that cannot be broken by password hacking software...

How much truth is in it I don't know, but something not too ordinary with a 3 try limit seems so far to work for me...

The most popular german passwords in 2021 are:

Code: Select all

1. 123456
2. passwort
3. 12345
4. hallo
5. 123456789
6. qwertz
7. schatz
8. basteln
9. berlin
10. 12345678
i´m wondering why e.g. "basteln" made it into the top ten. Perhaps, Germans associate trying to fix software issues with the word "basteln" ? ;-)

Not mentioned is if the same password is used at all locations where a user logs in - but i´m pretty sure that ... :woohoo:

For comparison the 2020 hit parade:

Code: Select all

1	123456
2	123456789
3	passwort
4	hallo123
5	12345678
6	ichliebedich
7	1234567
8	1234567890
9	lol123
10	12345
