.NET Open source report engine and designers... what are XSHARP developers usin

Post by Sherlock »

Wanting to export from Delphi code set, a huge amount of reports.
Prefer not to lock into a proprietary system.
Been throught this before and lock in.

Thoughts and options please..

Phil,
It is very quiet here. I think this is an area that many people are struggling with.
Report writers are generally very proprietary.
I have seen used:
- Crystal Reports
- Active Reports
- Telerik Reports
- DevExpress Reports
- List and Label

None of these are open source.
Some come with a "linkable" designer that you can embed like the ReportPro designer.
Some also have a "client- server" model where you can delegate report generation to a server that send back a pdf or other file.
