Finally!

I said this like, I did say that years (2005 to 2016, many many times) ago, but I keep back pedaling.

Now, there is no point of not moving forward to complete conversion to .NET.

See you guys when I started posting pertinent question.

I need to setup news reader, I prefer that one that this web forums.

Rene,

I strongly suggest that you use this Forum for your communications.

It may be more convenient to you (if you can get news reader to work) but many other guys contributing seem to have made the Forum their choice.

I for one have stopped opening my Thunderbird app., as I was only getting the odd post from Dick.

Give the Forum a good try out first !
Best regards,
Phil.

Hello Phil,
I for one have stopped opening my Thunderbird app., as I was only getting the odd post from Dick.
That was over a month ago. As with so many IT developments the last few years you get used to switching from efficient and fast working procedures to more time consuming procedures. Instead of 1 click entry in my NG I now have to login every time. And instead of a portable "database" with knowledge which I can keep regardless of internet access I have only the on line info and have to rely on decision of whoever to keep access to the forum messages. I try to make my own documentation with the answers found here. As 95% of my work is still VO I fortunately can still find answers in nearly 20 years of NG messages which I do regularly - and off line.

But Rene - of course, if everyone is posting here, I agree with Phil that NG use doesn't make sense anymore. And hey, the bright site is that you now can post a smiley with your messages :)

Dick,

You are right - things are more complex, more time consuming, and sometimes not as good as they used to be.

BUT - as you say we have the smilies to brighten our afternoon.

My good news is that things are likely to continue this way ;-0)

Regards to you and Elke, Julie sends her wishes.
Phil.

I still prefer the NG style than the web, but like you all said, we can post emoji? emoticons? like this   :P :( B)
