I checked the VS 2017 on our Azure server used by our trainee. See the attached notifications. The first 2 lines are as expected (I haven't updated VS 2017 since I installed it in August and frankly I should install the Professional version for which we have the Action Pack license but as this Community version worked more or less I am always reluctant to install any MS update as they usually mean trouble) but what I found interesting is line 3:
An update to "XSharp (X#) is available.

Only the date surprised me: 15-1, 2 days ago. I thought the latest update was op 12-12?

We did not release a new update on Mon 15th.
But I do know that Microsoft is changing the back-end infrastructure for the market place. Most likely that is why you see the message.
